The Novo Nordisk Foundation establishes BioInnovation Institute as an independent foundation

  • With continued positive development, The Novo Nordisk Foundation can provide up to EUR 470 million to the BII Foundation over 10 years to support early-stage life science projects and start-ups for the benefit of people and society.
  • Since inception in 2017, BII has successfully funded 85 start-ups with EUR 48 million.

Copenhagen, Denmark, 8 December 2020 – The Novo Nordisk Foundation today announces that BioInnovation Institute (BII), a Novo Nordisk Foundation initiative, has been established as an independent foundation in recognition of its success incubating and accelerating world-class life science research.
